FCI provides medical and surgical services in the United States to indigent Iranian children, usually in Minnesota. We do not provide financial assistance, nor do we or can we send funds to Iran as a matter of US law and mission. Reminder: Due to lack of funds and ongoing obligations to existing patients
Founded in 1991, the Foundation for the Children of Iran (FCI) helps arrange life altering treatment for Iranian children. Using a worldwide network of volunteers, including world-renown doctors willing to work on a pro-bono basis as well as incredibly generous donors, FCI provides services to as many children as possible who would otherwise face death or diminished quality of life. FCI is a registered charity based in Bloomington, Minnesota and incorporated under the 501(c)(3) rules of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

Our most recent patient is Elaheh, a beautiful 17-year-old young woman. Two years ago Elaheh became victim to a random act of violence – a bomb exploded in a public gathering place. She survived the explosion, however she lost a leg. Thanks to the talented Dr. Owen O’Neill and Dr. Chris Boosalis, she is receiving corrective surgery and is being fitted for a prosthetic; this treatment was not available in her home country. Stay tuned for more information and updates.
Our most recent patient is Davood, a precious 2-year-old boy. He was born with a profoundly debilitating condition called bladder exstrophy-epispadias. Surgery should have been performed 3 days after his birth but wasn’t for reasons we do not know or understand. Two years later, after reaching out to the Foundation, he finally had his surgery. Thanks to the amazing Dr. Shukla, Dr. Aliabadi and Dr. Sundberg at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital, Davood’s...
