New Patient Davood

Our most recent patient is Davood, a precious 2-year-old boy. He was born with a profoundly debilitating condition called bladder exstrophy-epispadias. Surgery should have been performed 3 days after his birth but wasn’t for reasons we do not know or understand. Two years later, after reaching out to the Foundation, he finally had his surgery. Thanks to the amazing Dr. Shukla, Dr. Aliabadi and Dr. Sundberg at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital, Davood’s 5.5 hour surgery went smoothly. Davood’s care is far from over. After he is released from the PICU, he will continue with 6 weeks of post operative care. Stay tuned for more information and updates.

Foundation for Children of Iran is doing a great work. My best wishes to little Davood. We should pledge for Health For All. Countries world over should strive for affordable health care to all its citizens.
